Joined by friends and family on a beautifully warm Sunday afternoon, our ‘Angel’ group gathered for one final weekend together. Sunday we gifted our celebrant ministers a ceremony of their own; we wished them well and congratulated them on the tremendous work they had undertaken leading up to this weekend. They all agreed that their journey, although only truly just beginning, had been a phenomenal one.
We were joined also by some very special guests. Our guest of honour was Ann Burkett, a fellow interfaith minister of Melanie and the inspiration of Melanie’s own ministry. Ann gave a blessing on our ceremony and also to our celebrants as they started their own ministry.
Managing Director of Devall and Son Funeral Directors and President of Coventry and District Funeral Directors Guild, Daniel Devall gave a speech commending the hard work from all at The Celebrant Academy and highlighted the importance of loving, compassionate, and attentive celebrants who are able to conduct ceremony well and offering pastoral care to every family they meet. Daniel also presented each celebrant minister with their certificates to commemorate their new roles.
We were joined by many other funeral professionals from different funeral directors across Warwickshire who also commended the hard work of the group and came to wish them well in their work.
We were truly blown away by the tremendous support from friends and family who joined us. It is not something we at The Celebrant Academy will ever forget and it goes without saying that we are as excited as ever for the future and celebrating in the the growth of our community.
